- I went to the Occupy Oakland Port party last night by chance. i ran into it as i disembarked from the bart on my way home. i say party because it was one of the funnest events i have been to in a hella long time. there were over 3000 people there and like five sound systems, live bands and Dj’s all over the place. soup you could eat off a plate and champagne for the thirsty revolution. there were costumes and dancing and about a bazillion cute girls there with the light of purpose in their eyes which is extra sexy. it was glorious. still there was the usual party poopers you might find in any party. mopy cops sulking in police cars, irritable truck drivers blocked from thier jobs by petulant revolutionaries and even the occasional anti OCCUPY protestor ranting about how Occupy takes away from working people. he is right tho you know. the revolution can screw with alot of essential things that the revolution overlooks often. if shit really does hit the fan importance will look different to everyone. you better know which kind of nettle is edible and where to find it sprouting from the pavement. all in all i love the Oakland revolution. its a good time and i left happy and tipsy. if i only knew what to stand for. is it unstoppable revolution? or consistent celebration at the end of the world? thanks to Occupy Oakland i dont have to choose anymore. no wonder the V for Vendetta guy is always smiling.
